JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Facilitator works directly with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director to assist in the research, creation, and facilitation of excellent inclusive social programs and services for the MORIAH community. As needed, the Program Facilitator will serve as a Social Interventionist for MORIAH’s inclusive social groups. As needed, the candidate may also be asked to attend outreach events to create awareness about MORIAH.
SCOPE OF POSITION:
- Independently facilitates monthly weekend inclusive social programs at off-site venues.
- Assists Program Coordinator with program curriculum development and materials acquisition, for both in person and virtual events.
- Researches different venues to host inclusive social events and communicates with the Program Coordinator regarding program opportunities.
- Collaborates with Program Coordinator to prepare curriculum materials for inclusive social groups.
- As needed, serves as Social Interventionist at inclusive social programs held on weekends.
- Helps prepare and direct Social Interventionists before and during inclusive social groups.
- As needed, attends outreach events to create awareness about MORIAH.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
As a member of the MORIAH staff, the Program Facilitator serves an important role to help ensure our participants achieve an excellent experience in the programs and services provided by MORIAH, including MORIAH’s Social Cooperative, Social Mentorship, and Outreach and Inclusion Methodology programming. Through regular supervision, staff training and evaluations, the incumbent will remain current and in compliance with policies and procedures, as outlined by MORIAH, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and MORIAH’s Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a focus on Special Education, plus two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a fundamental understanding of behavioral management techniques and social intervention skills to encourage meaningful social connections between program participants and peer mentor volunteers.
- Experience developing program/curriculum development for clients with special needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well and interact with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to work weekends
- Must have fingerprint clearance issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive within eight (8) weeks of hire.

MORIAH Cooperative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inclusive and enriching social opportunities for children with special needs, is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Social Interventionists to join our team. In this part-time role, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact by facilitating social engagement between neurodiverse and neurotypical peers in generalized social environments. Our programs focus on children who experience developmental delays, including diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Down syndrome, and other related disorders. Social Interventionists will also provide support to neurodiverse youth in managing sensory processing challenges and social anxiety within these social settings.
SCOPE OF POSITION:
- Facilitate social interaction and engagement between neurodiverse children and their neurotypical peers in inclusive social environments.
- Assist children in developing social skills, promoting positive social interactions, and fostering friendships.
- Provide support and guidance to program participants, including assisting with activities, managing behavior, and providing emotional support as needed.
- Collaborate with MORIAH Cooperative’s team to create inclusive and supportive programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program participation and outcomes as needed.
- Communicate regularly with program staff to provide feedback and identify areas for program improvement.
- Demonstrate kindness, empathy, and a positive attitude in all interactions with program participants, families, and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Empathy and patience in working with children of diverse abilities.
- Availability for part-time, weekend-based work on an as-needed basis.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Must have fingerprint clearance issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive within eight (8) weeks of start.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require some lifting (up to 35 lbs.) and standing for extended periods of time during events.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a part-time independent contractor position, that does not include benefits.

- Maintain meticulous records of assessments and diagnostic findings, adhering to ethical and professional standards.

- Provide leadership within MORIAH, offering clinical expertise, insights, and informed guidance to enhance the organization’s programs and services.

Qualifications:
- Experience as a licensed Neuropsychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Psychiatrist with specialized expertise in diagnostics, including the ability to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning differences, neurodevelopmental challenges, mental health and other comorbid conditions.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software such as ADOS-2, IQ Tests, and Social and Pragmatic Development tools to conduct thorough assessments.
- Understanding and consideration of 3rd-party payer documentation requirements and practices in the delivery of clinical services.
- Demonstrated empathy and compassion in working with children and their families, with a kind focus on making a positive impact on their lives.
